Dear Sir,

AIR RAIDS: 85TH DECEMBER 27TH DECEMBER.

I beg to report the following damage to the Railway

through bombing by enemy planes between 25th and 27th instant:-

25TH DECEMBISK.

SHEUNG PING, At about 9.30 hours the Railway was bombed

by 4 enemy planes when 8 bombs were dropped at this station

damaging the switch-stand, Pointsman-hut and signal of the down

point, 2 pairs of rail on the loop, 3 pairs on the main line,

60 sleepers, and the re-inforced concrete Goods-shelter. All

the doors, windows and ceilings of the station building and

telegraph wires were broken through explosion of the bombs.

Repairs were immediately carried out for trains to pass.

SHEK HA SHEK LIK KOU. Al about 12.30 hours the Railway

was again bombed by 6 enemy planes. 11 bombs were dropped between

Km. 58/3 and 58/4, of which 5 did not explode. No damage was

done to the Railway. 9 bombs were dropped at Shek Tan station

and all the window glass of the station building was broken

through the explosion. 5 bombs aimed at Bridge No. 82 (5-60*

plate girder, Km. 51.06) were dropped, damaging 5 telephone poles

and injuring a soldier.

26TH DECEMBER.

SIEN TSUN-CH UNG MUK TOU. Between 11.55 and 13.25 hours

6 enemy planes raided the Railway, dropping 3 bombs at the South

end of the Sien Tsun station, and damaging the doors, windows

and roof of the station building. All the telegraph wires were

interrupted and the building of a Transportation Company named

Sheung
